The Austrian Institute of Technology (AIT) will participate for the first time at the Berlin Science Week on the 7th of November 2017. It will host a workshop on the topic on “Complexity Science for Fundamental Urban Challenges”. The workshop will be held in cooperation with the Complexity Science Hub Vienna.
The workshop will take place at the Representation of the European Commission in Germany (Unter den Linden 78, 10117 Berlin) from 1.30 pm until 6.30pm. You will find the time table and the whole workshop programme here.
The workshop will introduce new concepts of complexity & big data science. A special focus is set on the challenges arising in the area of urbanization. How should cities be planned, built and governed in an intelligent way? How can immense data streams, which cities produce, be transformed into useful knowledge? And how can this knowledge be used to develop cities in a sustainable, resilient and resource-friendly way?
The Berlin Science Week is an international gathering. It brings together people from the world’s most innovative scientific institutions. If you are interested, please find the registration for this event here.
